This is my first attempt at creating a mini video of a weekend riding with the mrs , and not that type of riding calm down lads ?

It’s filmed on a GoPro hero7
And the software used to create it was Filmora cheap and cheerful at £40 for the year
I did have to purchase a sound track separately copyright free to upload to YouTube
Hope this helps people to get out there and start filming.
It’s would be great to see what others have created and post here.

Here's my go with the GoPro Hero 7 black, recorded in 2.7k superview at 30fps and Max ISO at 800 and I also use Filmora to edit. I need to play with the setting a bit more so it can cope better with the sun beaming through the trees.
The bike: 2018 Specialised Kenevo.

 
Hello @pgtips

Why are you riding with your left thumb over the bars? No wonder, that you crashed.
Is there a special reason for that?
Hopefully nothing series happens to you.

You're 100% right on that.......I just got too relaxed and lost concentration. Maybe tiredness kicked in and did that, I don't know. The front wheel got in to a rat and the left hand din't support the bars because of the thumb been on top.

Thanks for watching and had a good giggle about it I hope lol.
I did after the crash. Is all about learning about your mistakes (y)(y)

Cheers fella. They are nice, but I wouldn't mind some trails like the ones you riding on your video. They do look sweet.
Also so nice to see your lady rides......well better than I'm lol.

Thanks I will have to check those trails out.
I fancied making one for the LBP meet but unfortunately I'm working into the early hours of Saturday. Thanks for the invite and I will keep an eye out for any future days out.
p.s curious to learn more about the trail in progress (apologies for going off topic)

@AlwaysOff go for it dude I’ve had one since the hero 4 , but the hero7 is in a different league. My comes everywhere dog walks , family get together, hols, work and play it’s endless possibilities. ??
 
@Krisj I used to have a GoPro 4 that I used for surfing, loved using it but didn't really enjoy the editing side of things.
I'm sooo tempted though, all the pre hero7 youtube clips are suddenly looking pretty dated already!
 
@AlwaysOff The Filmora program makes editing a lot easier than it used to be , but you do need a good mac or Pc to run a smooth edit.
The plus side is you can trial the software with a watermark for free and upgrade if your happy.

I really like Filmora. Only thing I'm not keen with it is the grainy playback in the timeline. Still haven't found a way to make it any more clear.
Any ideas? I spoke with @Bongofish about it the other day and he has the same issue.
 
@pgtips sorry dude I’ve got Some issue here too stops and starts at transitions and slow mo effects but I put it down to my laptop not having a big enough spec.
But when i finish the export it looks really good when I play back.
It’s not high end but for a start up to get into editing I find it spot on.
Hopefully more people will read the thread and maybe shed some light on these glitches.
 
Grainy playback in the timeline might be because it's using 'proxies' for editing, where the software shows a low resolution version of the footage to give a smoother editing experience. If so, once you export it should look fine as it renders from the original source files.

Most editors let you select whether proxies are used and, if so, their resolution. Don't know if that's the case with Filmora or not...

The play back is smooth on mine, just grainy and difficult to get an idea on how will look before I process the video. Is something I can live with as the final result is great, but would be nice if there was a fix anyway.

Ah nice one mate, I take a look.
I also use Davinci resolve, is great but not as friendly as Filmora is. In Davinci though, the playback is as clear as the final result. Strange!
 
@Krisj hey man. If you want soother playback make sure your quick rendering your video as you edit it and then it will play it back super smooth in the preview box. The quick render button is under the video box in too right. It's like a little play button with a circle around it. I click that everytime I import a new clip and that means I can get all my transitions as smooth as I want to the music I'm putting it. If I didn't quick render it would ever all over the place. Also make sure to try and do it often because as soon as a clip is quick renders it won't need doing again. But if you have loads of clips and then quick render it it has the do all them clips and might take 5-10 mins.
 
@Bongofish cheere chris I’ll check that out I’m defo not doing that so that could be the my problem.

@Krisj what I would if I was you mate is open your recent video in the editor and play it back in the preview box and see it all jumpy and stuff. Then click that button. It may take 10-15 mins as it's got the whole video to quick render but then once it's done click play and watch it again and you can see it plays the video back exactly (not quality but timings and smoothness) as it will when exported ?
 
Not one of our members vids, but i was watching this, its a review by Loam Ranger on the new Pole Enduro bike, and at the 7.30 min mark he hands it over to Leigh Johnson who is an EWS rider to put it thought the paces - one fo the few go pro vides i have seen that really captures the speed and gnar from a POV.
