Getting to know the new girl... inside and out ;)

Rainy days are for wrenching! ?
I don't know if it's just me, but a new bike doesn't really feel like my own until every bolt is properly greased, threads loctite, torqued to spec, the fork has been redone with the correct amount of grease and fluid, etc. I honestly don't mind this routine of mine. It puts my mind at ease knowing stuff is done right and the bike is ready to get rowdy.

hello, how did you find the fox fork? did it have grease and fluid?

It had gobs of grease, but not as bad as others have posted here, and too little fluid. However, I am a very particular individual! ?

Well, you certainly started something when you started this thread, Kilham. Good job you did(y)

Thanks, that was the idea.

The "best" thing about MTB and e-MTB's is getting out into nice places and riding.

Okay, most of us don't have the Swiss Alps on our doorstep, but everyone's local countryside is better than being stuck inside.

No beautiful landscape to distract the rider on this trail where roots an trees abound. Need to keep an eye at the track and the other at dodging the stems.
Lost the front end over that root thar shows right behind the rear tyre and fell to the right, got stuck with my stomach on top of the bar end and a tree that was loose and fell over my back.
Had a very hard time getting off that trap.

A few Yoga movements finally got me out with just a scratch at the belly, thanks to soft rubber odi bar ends.

I loved the S-Works black frame. Only two choices for the SL.

Mad dash last night between the rain. Rvington (Pigeon Tower, Pike), Winter Hill, Belmont (Witton Weavers Way)... Got back just as the rain started again. 16.5 miles, 2000ft.

After doing 3 dog climb when you get to this junction just carry straight on up the hill to Into The Valley..the Three Dog descent just isnt worth doing ..and you have already done 3dog climb and Kerseyclough once already to get to this point

An " interesting " feature on Into The Valley is this little section ..when it was first built all of the stonework joined up ..but flooding & erosion had two large boulders falling off to the side ..and it has remained like this ever since ..

Some of the lovely flowing singletrack on The Osprey Trail ( full route section ..blue) the climb up to Hill 375..

There are a few large rocks at the top which form a "bench seat" ..10 years ago there was a great view across the valley to the Lonesome Pine trail..now only this ..that tree needs to go ..

..straight into Rikki's run then ..a nice narrow singletrack ( blue ) descent ..

Further on one of my favourite sections in the entire forest ..Squirrel Nut Pines ( blue)

This where the Osprey trail links into the Lakeside Way ..didnt see one though
