Levo SL Gen 1 Official Levo SL Thread

There you go...
Changed tires immediately and made tubeless. Ground Control and Purgatory work so much better than i thought and saved around 500g.
Also changed stem, saddle and handlear to my personal preferences.
I´m blown away by the bike, so natural. I did not know how natural E-MTbiking can be, i definitely stay with the SL and won´t go back to the clumsy LEVO.

Took the demo bike for a final blast before returning tomorro. One thing that really impressed me today was how fast you can spin the cranks and the motor still giving loads of power. Found it hard to out spin the motor?

I need help:oops:
Been thinking of changing levo comp to SL comp.
I have a buyer for my levos framset so if i buy it, i will put coils,dt wheels ect ect.

On normal levo my rides have been 20-100km, with 400-1500m of climbing.
I also ride enduro races here in finland, wich has lift or some of them has no lift assist. Race day is about 40-50km and 1000-2000km climbing.

Normal levo has no problems on my rides/races.
My tcu setting have been like:
-eco 10-15/30
-sport 40/70
-turbo 100/100
-in races 100% acceleration response.

So what im asking here that is SL levo bike for me?
I use water bottle, not bag, so extender is a little no go..

E:as you can see, i mostly ride eco/sport so assist is very low most of the time. Turbo mode on in segments/SS ect

Help

It will be better than the s works once I put on a factory 36 and new rear shock or something else coming out in about a month....;)

Be careful with replacing the rear shock - the shocks are specifically tuned to the Levo. You’ll get bobbing with a standard tune shock:
about 4 min in

cant really mate. I’ve tried both and prefer the lighter weight but c@n see why some would miss the extra power. For me personally I like putting the effort in but I’ve been surprised how easy the SL can be compared to my carbon stumpy of 2010 vintage. The SL feels like you’ve got a massive tail wind and your fitness level is at the best you’ve ever been and that your ridding a very light cross country bike. When I rode the Levo it felt like being on a motorbike.
it’s what ever you prefer.

I’m pretty sure a DPX2 reservoir will interfere with running a extender battery 36465BBF-74FF-4C21-BEAF-DB9CFE5B45CC.jpegextender

Second ride on my SL with range extender. I rode my usual ebike crew. 3 Levos, 1 Trek, 1 Commencal, 2 Hibikes. I usually set the climbing pace when riding with them using my Pivot Shuttle. However, today, they smoked me in climbs especially in steep climbs. I was expecting this. Different story on downhills. Since the SL is so agile and nimble, I was able to keep up. While all of them are done after 17 miles and 3500 ft of climbing (levos had about 17% battery left; Trek changed battery around 15 miles; Commencal drained its battery), SL is so efficient that I still had about 69% battery left; so I did another loop - 9 miles and 2000 ft of climbing. 26.42 total miles; 5521 ft of climbing; 3.50 hours of riding; and 22% battery left.

I’m getting the impression that the level of assistance is set conservatively as the default on the SL to allay battery range fears. To keep up with the full fat riders could this not be turned up? You had range to spare after all.

How does the assistance levels translate into rider input for the motor to be at max 240W?

100% = 120W ("2x you")
50% = 240W
25% = 480W

Is this correct?

Looks like it does. Is it necessary? Also would like to see the extender battery in there and can it be loaded and removed without hitting the shock?

For you that own an levo SL, When you pedal backwards does the chainring spin with it like a 'normal' mtb? Just looked at 2 SL's in my lbs, 1 did and other didn't.

Stunning bit of kit though.

It doesn't, as stock they are a little stiff, ease up after a few rides.

My chain goes back when I pedal backwards. Maybe that’s because I’ve only ridden about 25 miles so far?

Total capacity (main- and extender battery) = 480 Wh
Total consuption = 414 Wh
22% battery left ?
Something must be wrong...
With battery extender on it starts at 150% so you have 22% of stock battery left at the end.

Ah that's strange. I wonder why that is. Would make lubing the chain a hell of a lot easier. How you getting on with yours? I'm tempted by one
Its due to the 1 way bearing they use and grease. It will get like a levo later down the line for it.

I havn't got mine out yet, came down wiht the flu over the weekend so been nursing that while installing invisiframe, plan is to get out this weekend on my normal loop.

where do you live?

Anybody know if the sl motor will fit in a full fat levo? Mounting bolts appear to be in the same place!!

I'm upgrading my Levo SL Carbon Comp drivetrain from NX Eagle to SRAM XX1. Need to replace the Formula FH-521 free hub which is Shimano based to a SRAM XD. Response from Specialized for the part # is as follows. LBS has ordered it,

" if you have a LEVO SL Comp Carbon and you want an XD driver, your local Specialized dealer can order part number S202100009."

Funny! I just emailed my LBS for that info. Thanks! I just ordered a Comp Carbon and was curious.

Does anyone have the weights of the stock Comp wheelset? I think these are the portly.. 2200grams+ rovals. Huge weight savings potential right there if that's the case
