It’s about time we hit BPW again so I’m proposing the Saturday before Christmas. A chance to escape the hell that is Xmas shopping while throwing shapes with a bunch of like-minded reprobates.

True, until today I hadn't driven my car nor been out on my bike since 31st October!! Around the clock painkillers for the whole of November, so far. It has been so boring. Apart from the entertainment provided here!

For the last 4 days I have been doing some Pilates exercises every morning and also I've been on my exercise bike for 15 mins every day. It doesn't sound much, but it was all I was able to do. I woke this morning and my back still didn't feel right, as though it may fail again at any time. I had some insurance quotes to sort out this morning and, after an hour spent sat upright at my laptop, I stood up to find my back felt fine! (Thanks for your healing vibes 118).

But I've had that "felt fine" before a week ago, only to be sharply reminded that I wasn't! So I was a bit wary. By lunchtime I could no longer deny that I did indeed feel fine, so I went out on my bike. Amazingly, I was sensible and restricted myself to tarmac miles, 14 of them. I believed I could have done more, but baby steps.... Yey!
And no painkillers since noon!

I will be making no plans for any group rides for a while.

I am up for it @Doomanic, my finger is much better, I was going to go out this weekend on the local and see how it goes, i'm back in the fracture clinic next week but after following @118's handy healing tips I think it will be fixed completely before Christmas.

I have to plug it in, turn it on, select the program and go.
The resistance is magnetic (I believe).
So yes, its electrically assisted.
