Interesting ... wonder if the speed sensor missed the magnet briefly? Can't think what other sensors there might be. Guess there has to be a cadence and power sensor too somewhere.

Like you say there will be a cadence and a torque sensor at least , it's the fact it says in the drive unit . Best ring the shop and see what they say , if I can use a more local Shimano centre it would be more convenient

Just had a look on my etube app and I have the exact same error. I went in the garage to update the firmware and I'm having real trouble with that as well. Got to about 20% and it failed, now the app is just stuck on overwriting the firmware which eventually fails

Funny you should say that because I updated the firmware on Sunday and it took ages , seemed to stop , said it lost connection then reconnected and continued by itself. I'd not even looked at error codes at that time , noticed that yesterday

Kept saying the wifi was unstable and and failed acouple of times so I sacked it off and brought the bike in the house to try again which is when my problems started

Wonder how many more of us have this same error and if it’s anything to really worry about

That's exactly what mine said , was unstable connection so I moved the bike closer to the house and it continued

This where I could've messed it up. Think I disconnected or turned the bike off midway through before bringing it in to the hose to try again. It's now just stuck on a constant loop of the above screenshots

I had no issues with the firmware update, but I use the Windows based software and the SM-PCE02 USB -> eTube adapter.

Also, if you turn the bike on and off with a foot on the pedals, you can get errors like this.

If it can log an error if cranks move as it's switched on its highly likely that's what's happened , especially given the position of the on off switch

The torque sensor can't have any significant load on it during bootup which is probably when it does a calibration/zeroing.

I agree totally

Also thinks like lubricating the chain I do my with the bike off , I I guess this could be another reason for the error coming up ??

Wouldn't have any load on it , be more a case of move crank out of the way as switch is pressed possibly
