Just about to fit another Sram PC X1 with a new sram pg 1130 cassette, and new NX derailure due to the last failing.

I believe most chains have 114 links, is that the right length or should a chain be shortened before installing?

I just ordered a SRAM PowerChain PC 1090 10-speed chain which has 114 links.

I replaced the 32T in the front and installed a 36T and have the standard 11-40T in the back. Is there a way to calculate the optimum lenght based on that?

If your rear mech fails, then SRAM will tell you your chain is too short.

2018 levo expert, 4.600 miles since october 2017. still on original front ring and rear mech, so far its on chain number 11 and rear cassette number 3, average miles per chain 454 which i think is quite good as 90% of riding is a mixture of off road commuting and bike parks, all of the chains apart from the original are sram pcx 1.
