Has anyone added the external battery yet?
I'm in the same boat as yourself. I'm taking delivery of mine next week and I'm keen on buying the additional battery. It comes in 300w, 400w and 500w, so I'm keen to try a ride with the additional battery and without and see how it affects the ride. Obviously cost is a factor, but would love to remove the "battery anxiety" of big rides with 1,125w of battery. ?

Not that 625w isn't a lot to begin with but I decided to add the attachments for the second battery just in case it was a future consideration.

P.S. the LBS said it IS something that you can add at a later date.

Cheers

So you can have the attachments for the external battery permanently fitted but still ride with just the 625wh internal battery?
Does the attachment have some sort of protective cover on the terminals then?
My LBS were very vague and didn’t seem to know the answers.

You can have them off altogether and just use the blanking plates and then get the terminals fitted if and when you decided to have a second battery.

I expect you will have something to cover them as the IS a water bottle attachment that goes between the terminals of the second battery, so I'd assume they would be covered somehow.

Made a few phone calls today. The mounting for the external battery is fully waterproof even with the battery removed so you can simply pop the external battery off for shorter rides & weight saving without the exposed connector being an issue, there’s also a cover available but doesn’t come as standard apparently.
