Hi everyone....I’ve just got a specialised turbo levo fsr.....I love it ...it’s amazing but my friends won’t ride with me ?

That looks like a good bike. Did you consider getting a hardtail at all? What sort of riding do you do?

Just give them a ride up any hill on your and they will have the same silly grin on their face that you do and will start saving for one of their own

I did but my eye just kept going too the frame ....I’ve never had duel suspension mtb before ...I watched videos on you tube of it and it just swayed me totally too it ...I ride trails mainly but nothing hardcore but now I’m going to push the boundaries....I live near Swanage Dorset and the new forest so I’m going to be very busy ...just wished I got it earlier in the summer

I do hope so considering it was one of them that introduced me to one of their nephews that had one ...they nearly knocked me off it for a go when it arrived ?

Oh yeah I know swanage. Was there on Saturday. Got a steam train from Norden. Also ordered some cycle maps of the New Forest. Never cycled there yet but I bet it’s a really good place.

It is ...I can’t stop riding it ...it’s so awesome...it’s a shame I’ve got to work ...it’s really affecting my riding time ?....what’s your ride dude ?

I’ve not bought an EMTB yet. Currently have just a normal mountain bike. Hired a Cube Reaction Pro 500 a week ago and was very impressed. It was as if the hills did not exist. It’s a hardtail which might be enough for what I want but then again I’ve never tried any other ebike. Would have bought it but the new Bosch motors are coming out soon so I thought I’d wait a while until then.

I looked at the cubes ...they are fantastic looking bikes ....the first e bike I tried was a specialised so I think that heavily influenced my choice ...I’m not letting my battery charge drop below 80 % ....I hope I’m doing the right thing ....all the advice I’ve looked atseems to say that

Unless these batteries are very different you need to use the battery more. Let the electrons move. It’s healthy to take it down to ~20% and then charge to full. Don’t store it uncharged, but use it.

That’s my understanding of it anyway

To get the maximum cycle life out of your pack you want to store the battery at between 30-70% state of charge, charging to full just before (within 24hrs ideally) of when you are going to ride. Don't give too much credibility to any guidance on battery care you find in the manual of your bike - from what I have seen the bike manufacturers either know very little about the care and use of lithium batteries, or (more cynically) they are giving people the wrong advise deliberately because they want to sell more replacement batteries down the line.

Thankyou.....that’s great advice ....you hear so many different advice notes ....the manuals say nothing about it ...just only how to charge

In the old days, running a battery completely flat would be detrimental but these modern lithium ions have protection circuits which cut out power well before the battery is completely drained, so running out of charge on a bike ride is not going to cause damage as long as you don’t keep it in this state for too long.
I would charge it back to 40-60% for storage or 100% if you intend to ride again in the short term.
Also I wouldn’t charge a battery if it is hot from a ride. Let it cool a little before charging.

Hi guys/girls with regards batteries how do people with batteries that don't remove get on especially stored in an outside lockup. I'm awaiting a steel shed being built then the bike will be locked up in that. should i put insulation on the inside just to take the edge off.

i think that might be a good idea ...especially in summer as it’s foing to get hot and very cold in winter ...also you should consider keeping it off the floor ...and ventilation to keep the air moving ....I’m no expert but it may be worth some investigating on all factors

I’m not sure either ...I’d be thinking about lining the whole inside as a metal box is going to get hot and cold ....

possibly having two ponds i wrap the pipework in similar and it keeps water flowing and stops pipes freezing anythings a bonus

yea the steel lock up has a steel floor so i'll probably put down some rubber flooring on top and insulate it before winter hits

Hahahaha one of the reasons that was a clincher for me was the same thing ...I was in Swanage....with my kids... I was owned by an elderly couple too on a hill

Probably the same couple. Perhaps they are sponsored by a major EMTB bike brand ?

So any recommendations for cleaning ...I’ve been wiping down with soap and water so far .....removing battery and keeping control function covered.....is a chain cleaner and muc off recommended ?
