The ELyte EVO is Whyte's answer to the full-power-but-light brief: the new Bosch Performance Line CX (Smart System) motor and a compact 400Wh internal battery in a full carbon frame that comes in at 20.8 to 20.9kg claimed. The clever bit is the included 250Wh PowerMore range extender, which mounts in the lower bottle boss position just above the motor, so you can run a 650Wh combined capacity for big days or strip back to 400Wh for shorter blasts. Whyte makes much of the resulting centre of gravity, quoting 505.07mm on the 29er RS and 492.28mm on the MX Stag Works, its lowest ever.
The two builds split cleanly. The RS at £7,250 runs RockShox Lyrik Select+ and Deluxe Select+ suspension, SRAM S1000 T-Type AXS shifting and Code Bronze Stealth brakes on 29in wheels front and rear, and it is the obvious value pick. The £9,999 Stag Works goes mixed-wheel with Fox Factory 36 and Float X, SRAM XO T-Type AXS, Hope Tech4 V4 brakes, Hope cranks and hubs, DT HX531 rims and a Race Face ERA carbon bar, a genuinely boutique parts list for the money.
Geometry is shared across both: 150mm front and 142mm rear travel, a 64.6 degree head angle (64 in the low Shape.it Link setting), 481mm reach on a Large and long 450.4mm rear centres at every size, which points to stability over snap. Every ELyte EVO ships ready for Bosch's free software updates, including the E-MTB+ mode from July 2025 and the 100Nm plus 750W peak uplift from October 2025, so the launch-spec 85Nm/600W figures undersell what the bike runs today.
