Gravity-oriented Bosch CX-powered enduro eMTB with custom Fox suspension

The Orbea Wild 2026 is Orbea's carbon enduro flagship and one of the most credible Bosch CX Gen 5 platforms on sale. Headline numbers: 170mm fork, 170mm rear, Bosch Performance Line CX Gen 5 at 120Nm and 750W peak with a 2.8kg motor mass, a 750Wh battery, 63.5 degree head angle and reach 435 to 505mm across S, M, L and XL. With top trims running the Bosch CX-Race motor variant for race-tuned mode mapping. The community read is positive: @mmcengineer reports the 2025 carbon Wild feels noticeably lighter than the previous aluminium frame, and @NVRider calls it "a beast: stable, planted, bump-absorbing: better for riding fast over rocks/roots".
Drive system and range. The Bosch Performance Line CX Gen 5 is the headline. 120Nm of torque, 750W peak and Bosch's PU2.0 firmware. Top trims pair the CX-Race variant for race-tuned mode mapping. The 750Wh battery is integrated through the downtube. @Spiff notes the Orbea Wild's diagonal tube design supports adding a Bosch PowerMore 250Wh range extender via a 44 euro Orbea interposer plate, taking the package to 1,000Wh effective. Real-world range on 750Wh sits at two to three hours of mixed alpine riding with 1,500 to 2,000m of vertical achievable for typical riders. Bosch's Flow app, Kiox 300 display and OTA firmware updates are all standard.
Geometry and handling. 63.5 degrees up front is properly slack for enduro use. Reach steps cleanly: 435 (S), 455 (M), 480 (L), 505 (XL). Chainstays are a uniform 448mm and wheelbase tops out at 1311mm on XL. The package matches the Wild's enduro brief: confident on steeps, stable on fast rough terrain, balanced through tight switchbacks.
Build and value. The gold spec lists one base trim. Orbea historically offers the Wild in multiple trims via the MyO custom-builder, where buyers configure fork, shock, drivetrain, brakes and finishing kit individually. @Mr.G confirms the 2026 Wild M10 ships with SRAM Maven Silver brakes (HS2 220mm front, 200mm rear rotors) and Kashima-coated Fox suspension front and rear on the L size: a serious flagship spec sheet. Standout: MyO custom build configurator. Questionable: integrated battery and PowerMore extender interface require an Orbea interposer plate.
Community-verified strengths.
- Carbon frame feel. @mmcengineer calls the 2025 carbon "noticeably lighter" than the previous aluminium frame.
- Descending composure. @NVRider rates the Wild as "stable, planted, bump-absorbing... better for riding fast over rocks/roots".
- Top-trim spec. @Mr.G reports the M10 with SRAM Maven Silver brakes (220/200mm HS2 rotors) and Kashima Fox suspension: flagship-grade kit.
- Range extender supported. @Spiff documents the Orbea interposer plate (44 euro) that lets owners fit the Bosch PowerMore 250Wh extender.
Caveats and known gripes.
- DVO suspension incompatibility. @Abildgaard reports 2022-current Wild frames are incompatible with DVO shocks because the compression knob interferes with the lower frame cross-beams.
- PowerMore extender requires interposer. @Spiff flags the standard PowerMore mounting interferes with the diagonal tube; the 44 euro Orbea interposer plate fixes it.
- Seatpost insertion limit. A poster references the Orbea tech manual noting the size M Wild has a 310mm maximum seatpost insertion depth, which limits dropper choice for taller riders on M frames.
- Direct-sale service variance. @Robson reports a poor IBKBIKE service experience on an Orbea Wild Shimano hub defect, where the dealer redirected the customer to Shimano directly.
- Four sizes only. No XS or XXL; riders under 1.65m or over 1.95m should fit-check.
Verdict. The 2026 Wild is one of the most polished Bosch CX Gen 5 carbon enduro platforms on sale, with proper 170/170mm travel, modern slack geometry, MyO custom-build flexibility and a route to 1,000Wh effective range via the PowerMore extender. It suits riders who want a carbon enduro tool with Bosch's mature ecosystem and Orbea's custom-build configuration. Buyers needing DVO suspension compatibility, a removable battery without interposers or wider XS/XXL sizing should look at the Specialized Kenevo, Trek Rail Plus or Whyte E-180. Production status: current.
