A solid all-round descender (65.8° head angle, 140mm) — capable in the rough and steep without being an all-out bruiser.
Trance X Advanced E+ Elite 2023
How current the bike is — newer chassis, motor and battery score higher. 10 = brand-new, 0 = legacy.

The Trance X Advanced E+ Elite was Giant's lightweight full-power trail E-MTB, built around an Advanced-grade carbon frame with 140mm of Maestro rear travel and a 150mm fork on a mixed 29in front / 27.5in rear wheel setup. Its defining feature was the ultra-slim 2.3kg EnergyPak 400 battery paired with the full-power SyncDrive Pro2 motor (85Nm, co-developed with Yamaha), letting Giant chase a low overall weight without dropping to a reduced-output drive unit. A flip chip gives Low (slacker, lower) and High (steeper, higher) geometry settings.
For 2023 the UK range ran four trims off one frame. The flagship Elite 0 at £12,999 had a Fox 36 Factory Live Valve fork and Float X shock, SRAM XO1 Eagle AXS wireless shifting, Code RSC brakes, a Fox Transfer Factory dropper and carbon Zipp 3MOTO wheels with Quarq Tyrewiz. The Elite 1 at £8,999 used Fox 36 Performance Elite Live Valve suspension, SRAM GX Eagle AXS and Code R brakes on the integrated carbon Contact SLR cockpit. The Elite 2 at £6,499 moved to a Fox 36 Float Performance fork, DPS shock and a full Shimano SLX four-piston build, which is the value sweet spot. The Elite 3 at £5,499 used an Aluxx alloy rear triangle, a RockShox 35 Gold fork and Shimano Deore for the lowest entry price, keeping the same frame, motor and battery.
Geometry is consistent across the range, with a 65.7 to 65.8 degree head angle in Low and 66.5 degrees in High, 447mm chainstays on every size, and reach on a size L running 480mm Low to 487mm High. It is a balanced trail position rather than an outright enduro stance.
This generation is now discontinued and appears at clearance pricing. It remains of interest mainly as a light, carbon, mixed-wheel full-power trail E-MTB for riders who want SyncDrive Pro2 power without a heavy bike, accepting the modest 400Wh battery in exchange for the lower weight.
What the numbers mean on the trail
Computed from this bike's geometry, spec and build kit — reach, wheelbase, chainstay, head and seat angles, travel, motor, weight and the fork/tyre/brake spec — and worked out per size, because a fixed chainstay can make an S and an XL feel very different.
A fair bit of pop, but happiest on flowing trail rather than trials moves.
Rear-long with a planted front in L (FC:RC 1.78) — easy to weight the front and quick to turn, though it can feel light at the back at real speed.
Giant SyncDrive Pro2 and a steep 76° seat angle keep the weight planted over the front — a proper winch. 250W of peak power and 85Nm of torque — a strong full-power motor.
Strong up and composed down — a do-it-all, not a specialist.
The numbers are well balanced for its category.
