A solid all-round descender (69° head angle, 120mm) — capable in the rough and steep without being an all-out bruiser.
G Cross Country 2025
How current the bike is — newer chassis, motor and battery score higher. 10 = brand-new, 0 = legacy.

The GasGas G Cross Country is the brand's entry-level hardtail e-MTB, a budget skill-builder rather than a trail weapon. All three 2025 trims share an aluminium 6061 frame, GasGas finishing kit and a 720mm bar, and lean on Yamaha motors paired with conservative XC-leaning geometry: a 67-degree head angle and 74-degree seat angle on the 29-inch 2.0 and 3.0, and a steeper 69-degree head angle on the smaller 27.5-inch 1.0.
The £2,699 G Cross Country 3.0 is the pick of the range and the only one worth the spend over its sibling. For the same money as the 2.0 it brings a 120mm RockShox 35 Silver TK air fork in place of the SR Suntour coil unit, the stronger 85Nm Yamaha PW-X3 motor instead of the 70Nm PW-ST, a wider-range 12-speed SRAM SX Eagle drivetrain (11-50T) versus the 2.0's 9-speed Tektro, and it is lighter at a claimed 23.2kg against 23.9kg. Both run the 630Wh Simplo battery, Continental Cross King 29x2.3 tyres and 180mm rotors. At identical pricing the 3.0 is the clear choice.
The £1,599 G Cross Country 1.0 sits in a different bracket: 27.5-inch wheels, a 100mm coil fork, an 8-speed Tektro drivetrain, a detuned 50Nm Yamaha PW-CE motor and a smaller 400Wh external battery. It is the lightest at 21.9kg and aimed squarely at smaller or first-time riders. With no rear suspension and modest forks across the line, this is a confidence-building commuter-and-light-trail platform, not a bike for technical descents.
What the numbers mean on the trail
Computed from this bike's geometry, spec and build kit — reach, wheelbase, chainstay, head and seat angles, travel, motor, weight and the fork/tyre/brake spec — and worked out per size, because a fixed chainstay can make an S and an XL feel very different.
A fair bit of pop, but happiest on flowing trail rather than trials moves.
Rear-long with a planted front in L (FC:RC 1.53) — easy to weight the front and quick to turn, though it can feel light at the back at real speed.
Climbs well — a 74° seat keeps the front planted, with 85Nm on tap. That's 3.9 Nm/kg and ~23 W/kg of bike weight.
No single standout trait — a balanced, versatile bike.
The numbers are well balanced for its category.
