Hi, my Giant Reign has started throwing some errors. Now this has happened 3 times (bike has now around 400km). Basically Motor just stops and the control panel/display starts blinking the 2nd LED in red. Based on manual and Giant app, it means there is a problem in the motor. I need to go to Giant dealer to get this clarified. But as I can still ride the bike I have not been hurrying with it. Until now, the power cycle has been enough to recover the problem.

Does anyone else have a similar experience, and how Giant/Yamaha fixed the issue? New motor?

Any joy ?

I have had this very same issue. After running a diagnostic test Giant Australia decided to replace the motor to solve it. Unfortunately I had to wait 10 weeks for a new PW-X3 motor to arrive. Had it fitted, went for a total of only three rides with everything operating as it should, and then boom... had the same issue again. Another diagnostic test later revealed the identical issue to exist. I questioned if it was was perhaps not a motor related issue however Giant were adamant the diagnostic testing was correct and are once again replacing the motor however this time with the new PW-XM motor rather than another PW-X3 model. While waiting for the third motor to arrive Giant replaced the Y harness to check just in case. It made no difference so it's not a wiring related issue. I'm due to get the bike back next week. Shall post again with a result. If the news isn't positive keep an eye on the classifieds for a 2024 Trance X Advanced E+1 going cheap.

Yes I have this been able to reset a few times by removing battery, trying to find a decent Giant dealer that can actually knows what they doing, unfortunately in Australia most are just interested in retail sales

I have just had the same thing on a 2022 Trance (bought new 4 months ago). Took it to my LBS and they found some motor faults, they sent the info to Giant and they just said to do the latest update...problem sovled...so far.

I think it has to do with the SmartGateway module. I had problems with this module on Trance 2021, there is no official dealer in my country. The wizard removed the smartgateway, changed the wires and installed the computer from the 2019 model. After that, the bike traveled 5000 km and I sold it.

Sorry, I'm using Google Translate.
