Hey folks.

Does anyone get something like this Carbon E-Bike Engine Cover for their Orbea's? I'm considering getting that one for my Wild, but I'm unsure of how strong that material actually is. Looking at their YouTube video, it looks so thin and fragile, but maybe it's not?

At the moment I've got a metal plate on top of the plastic guard that came with the bike, but ideally I'd replace the whole plastic guard with something more durable. I haven't found many options, but I've also found this one, which looks like much more strong than the carbon one, albeit a bit more expensive.

Thoughts?

I have one of these and I bought it hoping that it was thick like the MX ones, but it's not. I would not call it super fragile, and maybe it's even more shatter resistant than the OEM one, but it was actually thinner and slightly lighter than the OEM one.

Time will tell.

Thanks for the feedback. What MX ones are you referring too?

Get an Amygos cover. They don't look the best but sure work the best.

What are people trying to achieve? I've known loads of people have motor issues with e bikes across all manufacturers but I've never heard of a failure coming from a rock strike to the motor. it's always been internal failures from water ingress, crank impacts or parts failures internally). I think I might once have heard of a damagaed/failed motor mount but a big skid plate or motor guard is still going to transfer to the load to the frame mounts in the same way through the motor (what are you going to attach it to otherwise and what damage is it going to do at that point?)
