Will a fox dpx2 2018 230x60 fit my trek rail 9.8

hello,
i want to change the rear shock on my rail 9.7. The rebound on my RS deluxe is broken... I bought a DPX 230x65 from a friend of mine. Can I use the hardware/bushings from the original RS deluxe shock to fit in the FOX DPX?

I think with the carbon frames, 65mm stroke may have seat stay clearance issues.

Thank you. If that will be a problem I will send the shock to fox for reducing the travel to 60 or maybe 57.5mm. It is 60€ and that's all together much cheaper than buying a shock in a shop. The shock is on the way to me, so I want to know if I have to order the Fox hardware? Or will the Rock Shox Mounting kit be okay for the job?

60mm should be fine, original RS hardware works if you remove the preinstalled plastic IGUS bushings off of the Fox shock and press out the thin metal DU bushings out of the RS shock.

Yes, it is true, but each of that bushings type need different spacers. The reused ones from RS are easiers because you can keep the original spacers.

The Black stock RS Spacers def look better than the plain cylinder type ones that come on the aftermarket hardware kits.

That‘s how a FOX DPX2 Shock230x65 fit into an Rail 9.7 Large Frame

But on the last part of the stroke the bridge from the rear end touches the seattube.
So I have to travel the stroke.

on the carbon frames, the seat stay bridge may hit the back of the seat tube at full compression if used with a 65mm stroke shock

My 2021 large 9.8 hits in low but is fine in high setting with 65mm stroke dhx2 2021

I have a 2022 carbon rail 9.7 and with the help of this thread and a few others I sucesufully swapped over a fox dpx2 230x60 onto my 2022 9.7 carbon rail. I bought Roxshock BU bushing tool and swapped over hardware kit from my Select Deluxe + to the Fox. Everything went smoothly. I did NOT have to purchase a new hardware kit.

I did have to add 25 additional psi to get to 30% sag and add a volume spacer to the shock. I put about 20 miles on it so far but the biggest drop ive done so far has been about 2 feet. I plan on some smaller jumps and some larger drops just to see if In using up all the travel. I may swap back to the previous spacer if I don't bottom out the shock. No issues with clearance.
