Where are the 38mm coil forks?

I greatly prefer coil to air springs, and the half a pound difference is irrelevant to me. I doubt I'm alone in this. Yet, the only choice is the Ohlins. What gives?

I currently am running a 170mm Z1 coil on my Trek Rail. It's a great fork, especially considering how inexpensive it is. But, it definitely deflects in rocky areas, and my trails are littered with rocks.

The Ohlins is expensive and rare, so I hesitate on going that route. I am considering finding a used Zeb and putting a Smashpot in it.....

Smashpot in a Zeb or Fox 38 would be my recommendation….or if you have deep pockets the Push nine.one

Wow, that Push fork looks cool, but way too expensive.

I'll likely go Smashpot Zeb since a OneUp EDC doesn't work with a 38.

Still, surprised at the lack of coil options. Seems brands making eMTB specific forks would be better off making coil options....

I can get the Push at dealer cost, it’s still expensive but a bit easier to stomach. I’m planning on doing a build with one once my man cave is finished, just waiting to see how much this thing is going to cost me🤣😂

I have the 38 with the smashpot in it and love it. You can pick up a 38 with the Grip 2 damper cheap right now since the new models are out. The V2 one up works with the 38s, I have one in mine.

The OneUp website is a bit confusing, or maybe I'm not that smart, but from what I can tell the threadless carrier works with the Fox 38, but the threaded does not. I want to go with the threaded so I can store a CO2. Thus the Zeb. I hate wearing a pack, so do all I can to avoid it. It's why my analog bike is a Stumpjumper Evo with the in-frame storage.

So, I guess my annoyance really comes down to the fact that RockShox doesn't make a coil Zeb! :ROFLMAO:

I have a smash pot on my Kenevo in a Zeb. I found the spring calculator to be more geared to Red Bull rampage. Maybe go a little lower if you are not hucking off your roof to flat.
