I’ve trawled the internet and can only find product release reviews.

It looks great, on paper, for me and I loved my old Rail.

I’m on a full 29er Crafty at the moment, which is a brilliant bike, but I want mullet at 173cm / 5’8”.

The £5k base alloy version looks perfect for upgrading at home.

Anyone?

Cheers!

Exactly what we did (or to be more exact, what I did) with our January 2022 alloy Trek Rail 5's.

Absolutely no issues whatsoever after 3 years - about 3,000 miles on my (L) and about 1,500 miles on Mrs irie's (M).

I'm 5'10" and Mrs is 5'7".

Gen 5+ sure looks good! They just forgot to do M/L size with 475mm reach

Agree. My Trek Fuel EX M/L was perfect for me. Medium Rail was too small for me so bought a Large Rail then messed around quite a lot with the cockpit to get it the way I wanted.

Anyone got the new Gen 5 yet? Seen a few shops have them. Looks quite good, loads of geo options on this new one. Quite interested.

This bike is very very good. Only one ride so far, but I’m very impressed so far.

160 Fork, 160 rear, can run up to 180mm fork, head angle adjust, BB height adjust and a progression adjust flip chip to run coil shocks.

ooof! Where in Wales are you?
Love the fact it's a mullet.

Risca budd .... The mullet only is the one thing I don't like about it .. I want an option for a 29 if I fancy it
the off piste stuff is quality around there, lucky man.

Doesn't it have a flip chip for 29?

Anyone who ridden both the new trek and the new orbea and can chime in? I know its a matter of taste but the Trek is slightly cheaper with components I like better so I'm having a hard time deciding.
Looking at Rail+ 8 vs Orbea WILD H20 2025.
I live in Andorra so lots of steep gnar.

I had the option to go for one or the other, but could not get passed the hideous headset cable routing and the high number of rear chain stays cracking in the H frames which is what I was looking at as I don’t do Carbon.

Anyone got any noise coming from rear on rough sections? Trying to troubleshoot!

Just got my rail+ 8 yesterday. Invisframed last night. Maiden voyage tommorrow.
Anyone got a solution to protect the charge port more . Feels a bit flimsy and will bot we very weatherproof i dont think

Charge port cover , is everyones like this . Really poor design . Was thinking about a 3d printed insert ?

Perhaps the charge port door is not being fully/properly closed?

Can't remember where, but somewhere on this forum there is a description of how to open the door, how to keep it open, and how to fully close it.

Ther isnt any catches etc on it . it purely relies on the tension from the tiny spring . I was under the impression this woudl have needed to have been IP rated . I might get a 3d printed insert and stick it it . Really dont want to tape it up . just spend a wild amount of money on the bike

What I remember is that when the door is opened the top of the cover moves back a little to hold the cover open. Then when closing the door holding the bottom gently pull it out and a little sideways and it drops closed. That's what ours do on both our 2022 Trek Rail 5's.
