Yeti obscure ?

Maybe wrong term here, so Exclusive ? Boutique ? Unique ? Sure , but not obscure in any way.
Guess this is more of a philosophical question or a debate for the sake of debate... but for majority of people who don't nerd out on biking forums and follow MTB racing scene, a brand like Commencal will be much more recognizable than a boutique racing brand like Yeti. I'd even venture to say that Rotwild and Crussis have a much bigger presence in Europe than Yeti.

The vast majority of people will think bikes start & end wiith Carrera, Btwin, Decathon & so on. My guess is if you stopped people in the street & asked, they would never have heard of Norco, Raymon, Focus, Propain, YT, Radon or any of them. Only a very small handful of manufacturers penetrate the public consciousness as a whole, that's scenes for you.

It’s very location dependent. Ironically I’ve never even heard of 2 of those first 3 brands you mentioned, but I would bet most people who are actually into biking at all from the US know Yeti. Lots of these brands seem to have the vast majority of their sales concentrated to one continent or another, with only a handful of the biggest ones having a strong global presence.

Europe definitely seems to have more of these smaller boutique brands, I’m jealous of all the good options available to everyone over there. The US definitely has some, but it seems to be more dominated by a smaller number of bigger brands.

Hence why I said the vast majority of people & not most people into biking, they're not the same thing. ;)

Anyway, this is all a digression. Back to DJI taking over the world.

Next iteration of an extremely similar Crussis/Megamo frame. I bet they’re made in the same factory. This one is from the Polish brand KROSS (similar to the low-cost Czech brand Crussis).

China seems to be doing a stealth attack on the rest of the world through European and Canadian brands 😄

YT founder Flossmann recently mentioned in a podcast that they already have a finished Avinox prototype. So it shouldn't be too long before we see something official here!

why some are still eager to give this company their hard earned cash baffles me

They may have a prototype but that doesn't mean it will go to production or production anytime soon. Many companies do this, especially the bigger brands to further their r&d.

Flossmann's statement sounded very much like the Avinox bike is set to be launched in the foreseeable future... We'll see :)

I am not familiar with Olympia, interesting to see another long travel Enduro bike in the market and this one from an Italian company.
that chainstay length was acceptable back in the stone age…
