I have just taken delivery of a rail 9.8 and am considering fitting mud guards, what are people using, if any?

Mucky Nutz allround including downtube for the winter. Still get plastered across lower back and crack though..

Fitted my front mud hugger back to front so fills the gap perfectly to stop extra crud getting in.
My thinking is more saving the bike from crud than myself.

I recently replaced my trusted (and faultless) RRP enduroguard with the RRP Proguard bolt on, it's a better mudguard and does not require those pesky fork damaging cable ties, I also have it doubled up with a 10ish year old RRP Neoguard.

I don't wear glasses or goggles and almost never get mud on my face or in my eyes.

Just fitted the Crud XL to the front. Looks like a good piece of kit. Knocked a lower guard up from the old front to stop all the crap getting in the pivot. Won't stop my ass getting covered though.

Just worked out how to post pictures.. I’m a Luddite with technology. My home made ass saver thing on the rear and a cut down mud hugger on the front. I’m happy with them.

I'll be doing exactly the same as you've done, Mudhuggers front and rear. I did the same on my Remedy and found it a really good setup. Love the rear guard especially, works perfectly to protect the linkage bearings and stop a build up of muck around the chainstay bridge. I also reckon it helps to stop muck getting on the drivetrain too ?

Back from a muddy ride. Mudhuggers front and rear, like a few others have done. Had to make my own holes at the top for the ties, but didn't need to cut them down at all

Hi,
So how is you mud guard working for you after some time of usage? Any damages to frame from rubbing?
Is your tyre rubbing the guard? How well is protected pivot gap above the motor?

I've had good results with the bolt on RRP and the official Fox ones. I would avoid cable ones where possible. I was so meticulous about invisiframing my lyrik and it still bloody rubbed through the paint. The crud guard XL is probably the most effective one I've ever used, but it makes an absolute racket, so I had to change it.

very happy with my sicomtb rear guard from the UK. Was quite expensive to get it down here in NZ but keeps the linkage clean which is my main aim. I don't often ride in really wet conditions, but its kept the spring mud off so far.

@JP-NZ there's a view that is very familiar to me! Guard looks very good quality, I like the Mudhuggers but they do get scuffed very easily
