Hi, please explain the Tune setting for a turbo levo in the specialised app
Welcome to the forum,
@CraigEmerson. Good question to start with - the Tune section is where Mission Control goes from "app you connected once and forgot about" to genuinely useful.
It gives you a whole suite of features to configure your motor's output to better suit your riding style, while also helping manage range. The two main levers are:
Support - how much motor assist is delivered in proportion to your pedalling output. Peak Power is the separate control for the maximum power the motor can deliver.
These are set independently for each mode (Eco, Trail, Turbo), so you can have subtle assistance in Eco and full beans in Turbo, or dial everything back if you want more of a workout.
Acceleration Response - this adjusts how quickly the motor delivers power.
Worth tuning if the default feels too grabby out of corners. The newer Specialized app also provides three preset tuning profiles: Universal, Battery Friendly, and Racing
- essentially quick-load configurations that set all three modes at once, which is handy if you want to switch between a "conserve battery" day and a "just send it" day without fiddling with individual sliders.
One practical tip: counterintuitively, increasing the output in Eco and Trail can actually improve your battery life overall, because you end up using Turbo less.
