What did you buy your ebike this week?

A pair of GripGrab Nordic 2 winter gloves / mittens. Their description says they are to be used in temperatures between -5 and +5 degC, which I think is appropriate. Above +5, I use my 100% Brisker gloves with good results, and below -5 I guess it gets cold using anything but thick mittens. I used the Briskers down to -10 last winter, but they are not up to it.

I've use these GripGrabs twice so far, on Saturday in -2 and today in approx +1. They keep my hands reasonably warm, but are a little bulky, as can be expected from thick gloves. I prefer as thin gloves as possible, but when winter is on, I have to face realities.

Bearings, grease, valves and pedal pins.......

Motor is currently on holiday for upgrade and service, so thought I'd take the opportunity to refresh everything else 😁

If and a big IF my motor (Bosch) survives after the warranty period
Where has the motor been serviced ?
Cheers

Performance line bearings (service centre) they had a name change sometime ago but still the same peeps..... lovely lot to deal with.
I had a gen3 Bosch that had water ingress, since they serviced and installed mudstop seal it's not missed a beat 😊👍

Currently having my gen4 upgraded with better seals ready for winter muck 😁

They're on here to chat to

New 100% brisker gloves came today test on Wednesday hopefully.

Also fox gillet arrived as well ordered a XXl as I usually do for length as normally man gear fits small
But this is huge makes me look ill 🤣🤣🤣🤣
So back it’s going might order the xl but it pretty thin so weighing my options up again
Seen a trespass softshell gilet for £12 so might try that

Yeah ..I have one of those in XL ..and they do size up big ..toasty though under a waterproof jacket
Ok might loom at the XL
But it was regatta I saw for £12

The fox gilet is super thin certainly not warm enough to use on its own this time of year

I would definitely agree that you couldn't use it on its own in winter..it is fleece lined ..but your arms would probably snap off in minus temps .
It is the Defend we are talking about ?

Nothing as warm as that as I said it’s super thin. Mild autum and spring at best
But it’s going back and still look to find a suitable one

To my non-expert eye the Shredda tread pattern looks virtually identical to the Maxxis Maxxgrip High Roller 3's on our Trek Rails (DD front, DH rear).

I ordered 3 x 240ml bottles of Continental Revo sealant from Bikeparts.co.uk. £9.77 instead of £12.95 and cheaper than elsewhere taking delivery costs into account. Free delivery on this occasion. They came today, less than 24 hours! :)

Continental Continental RevoSealant [240 ml]

However, the best before date on them all is Dec'24! Cheap for a reason.

But the liquid is free flowing and shakes well, all the particles are in suspension and not in a cruddy lump glued to the bottom of the bottle. I'll be using one or more when the two tyres I've bought turn up. :)

Thing about Ali Express items is that most are fake. Yes, you got a cheap item, but what is the quality & safety? batteries may catch fire, a seat may not be as comfortable, and a helmet could be unsafe (testing shows they are). Most vendors steal intellectual property, and place a name on an item that does not belong.

I attempted to buy a "real" Prologo seat on Amazon from what looked like a US based bike shop. I could not find any other US shippers at the time. What showed up was a poor item with the Prologo brand on it, but it was clearly garbage. Mailed back per Amazon instructions, it came back to me undeliverable... Finally ordered from Chain Reaction in UK. I handed my fake seat to the Prologo reps from Italy when they came to Sea Otter, they looked at me like, "where did you get this?"

My safety isn't worth the risk.
