1400 Ks on the rail and time for some upgrades , two Maxxis DHF minions down from 2.6 to 2.5 ,some rev grips , and a Sram AXS setup with new chain . Wasn't sure about the gold chain (only one the LBS had to do the job) but it looks alright to me

if they really do break without warning they don't sound very good.
Maybe wear all 3 of them stacked ontop of each other and the top two might protect the bottom one from unexpectedly exploding.
HaHa :ROFLMAO:
You probably realised that I was not referring to gradual accumulation of dents and scrapes and eventual delamination. But breaks as a result of an impact. One example was not ducking far enough under a bunch of foliage, only to find a sawn off 4" diameter branch hiding there. That was unexpected! :(

the Humvee II’s are my favourite riding clothing item. Ordered another two pairs a week ago and paid extra for 3 day delivery. Courier email says they’ll be delivered on Tuesday, 8 days after I ordered them and whilst we away in Wales, which is why I ordered them! 😆

The Humvee shorts I ordered almost three weeks ago and paid extra for 3 day delivery have just arrived :)

I called into Aldi on my way home from work tonight to see what they had up for grabs, I bought some digital callipers, a little drill driver and a couple of brushes to make cleaning my wheels a little easier, and at their prices it’d be rude not to, I also bought a box of screws and a couple of boxes of sanding sheets for my new Makita random orbital sander, I mean, 60 sheets for less than £4, absolute bargain

2 x 30mm Mavic rims to build new wheelsets and 2 x Magura MT5 - 2 Finger brakes to hopefully improve on the standard tektro 2 piston brakes that the bike came with

Bikes been good to me.
She deserved some new bling.

It's only bling if you can see it. Otherwise it falls into the useful upgrade category.

As an aside, one of the best upgrades I ever did was to take an old Yari I had lying around & swap the Motion control for a charger damper & Debonair air spring. For pennies, in the scheme of things, I turned a Yari into a Lyrik ultimate & to this day, I wish I'd kept that fork when I sold the bike it was on.

Bought a new carbon handlebar, new Oury grips, need a new longer stem, and probably going to order a Chris King+Stan's Flow MK4 rim wheelset today.

Finally they're on they're on the move! can't wait to get them and set up.

Now fitted but still not gotten out for a ride! Wheel builds and weather getting in the way :(

The 52t cassette makes the new chain look a bit tight so may need to wind out the B screw if it becomes an issue. The purple outline writing seems to show up blue in the photos but is definetly purple.

Not bought but made. An absolute ghetto Bosch lock ring tool. Got the idea off a guy on Youtube. I had a bit of tube lying around, so got the Dremel out & voila! Works like a charm & helped me do a quick inspection & clean around the crank seals.

How exactly are you expecting B-tension adjustment to help sort out the "issue" of a snapped mech and bent hanger? ;)

Add a couple of links (1 inner link and another quick link) before you find out the answer the expensive way.
And in future remove air from your shock so you can fully compress the rear suspension and find the point of max chain growth before shortening the chain.

yeah, that chain is brand new and unshortened. (must have bought a few links too short) just grabbed the first 12 speed that I saw in stock.
The B screw should bring the mech in a little to give me a few more mm.

you may be lucky and get away with that solution. But even if the B-tension adjustment can bring in the top jockey close enough that the mech isn't ripped off under full compresssion the chain's still technically too short. Because you've created an extreme forwards rotation of the mech's cage chainwrap on the pulleys while shifting between the two largest sprockets will be poor. (This will cause sub optimal shifting and premature wear). Top pulley gap in the smaller sprockets probably won't be ideal either.
It's useable if you never use the 52T. But that would beg the question why on earth did you buy that cassette?
Go to your local bike shop and ask them if they have any spare new 12speed links from shortened chains kicking around the workshop and buy another quick link from them.
Unless you just have a thing for buying coloured £200+ cassettes as regualrly as possible? ;)

I'll have spare links from previously shortened new chains (i rarely throw stuff like that out :) )
The 52t cassette is on there as i increased the front ring to a 36t to get you to run higher in the gears to give more life to the cassette, but that said, I cant see this cassette lasting too long as its an XC weeny lightweight jobby.

 Where are you riding that you'll ever need 36x9 gearing?

I run a 36t ring too. but 11-36. in the 11T it's good for 32mph+ on the flat. So yeah. I doubt you're going to trouble the 9t too often ;)

LOL nah not often, i went up and down my road to test it all out and it felt lit the hands of the clock would rotate faster lol
