Confusing subject (to me anyway) as depending what article you read or which AI you ask, the answer is not consistent. Having come from a Bosch Gen4 where you generally have to change modes depending on situation, Auto feels the 'best' 85nm/750W for 90% of my riding and trail 95nm/900W for the techie climbs. But eco 35nm/250W still feels OK.

Please post your configs and a short explanation as to why those settings work for you.

Nice question...

Eco as much as possible. Off when on flat terrain.

My aim is to do as much as possible exercise when I ride and last for the longest range. I consider the motor an assistant when my strength is not enough. I am in good health but I am still 67 and a bit overweight.

What is your BMI?

I use Sport (customized) and eMTB (Assist lowered 2 levels). In Sport I usually set it to 40 or 45 NM max support and -3 Assist. That is 90% of my riding. If I use stock setting my legs get too weak for regular MTB riding. My eMTB is my easy riding and cardio work. I ride MTBs with others and eMTB solo. If I ride stock eMTB setting for too long and also start to skip the regular MTB, I get embarrassingly slow with others on regular MTBs so the above is what I do.

Specialized Turbo Levo Comp. In flatter terrain, I use Eco (detuned to 25% of power), hills I use Trail (detuned to 50%) and I use “Auto minus” if the trail is wildly undulating between Trail and Turbo mode needs. I have “overrun” set at the default level which I believe gives power for 1 meter after ceasing pedaling. The power is defaulted to Eco mode on startup. My rides generally range from 20-35 miles.

I’ll be 64 next week and still do a combination of riding or weight training 4-5 days per week (although not nearly as intensely as in my 20’s and 30’s).
