Hi,

Approaching winter, wondering how to store the bike during the colder months to protect the battery from losing its capacity. The manual for the battery suggests that it should be stored between 10 to 20 degrees, which is essentially at the room temperature. At the same time same manual:
  • During discharge: -10°C to 50°C
  • During charging :0°C - 40°C
Quite confusing.

My bike stays in the unheated area. I wonder if I should pull out the battery and keep it at home. I'd prefer the battery to stay in the bike. I don't particularly like the idea of screwing/unscrewing the bolts which hold the cover to the frame too often. Looking at the hole in the aluminium - there isn't much thickness and I suspect the treads will wear out quickly. Any thoughts?

Just remove the battery and keep it inside. Its only the top screw that comes all the way out. The bottom 2 just need to be loosened to slide the cover off and they don't need to be really tight to hold safely.

I've got 2 batteries that I rotate and they live inside and get charged in the warm.
