Hi folks

Just a quick one on sizes. I’m looking at a Vala and I’m 6ft so just thinking would I be better off on a large or xl?

Cheers
John

I rode both at 6’1”, and the XL was too big. I felt like I was off the back of the bike when I demoed the XL. I'm sure I could get used to it. But felt the Large was a better fit. But if you're wanting something more stable, then an XL might be a better choice.

I am 6'3 with a +7 ape factor and a 84cm saddle height. XL felt too small and went with a XXL XO build. Really feels perfect with the stock bars and stem. Same size as my '23 Tallboy.

I was an XL on the Santa Cruz 'Skitch' Gravel Bike, but am a Large on the Vala. 6'-0" 180lbs slim build FWIW

When buying a bike disregard the letter on the side of the frame size for reach measurement first. There are wild differences between manufacturers sizing. Use Reach as a starting point and that zero's out all manufacturers size naming convention differences.

Reach gives you standing cockpit (descending). Effective Top Tube length gives you seated cockpit (climbing).

What is your current bikes reach? what is the new bikes reach?

Use geometry geeks to compare current bike with the proposed new bike.

With E bikes, if in doubt, down size. E bikes already have a heavy front weight bias, The last thing you want to do is make it too long and feel too much like a bus to ride.
