Upgrading to a new freehub

Hi,

My giant reign e+ 1 doesn’t have enough engagement on the climbs and the Freehub is far too quiet. I need some advice and have a few hub question:

1. Can I put a hope, industry nine, etc freehub onto the giant hub, or can it only be giant freehub?
2. If I can mix and match which freehub do I need? My bike has 12 spd XT so not sure if I need HG or MS

Sorry I know these might be daft noob questions but I’ve never upgraded freehub sin the past.

Freehubs aren't universal so I'm guessing you're stuck.

oh bummer, I don’t mind the cost of a complete hub and body, it’s the cost of labour to get it relaced

Just get a new wheel and keep that as a spare.

But then the front and rear won’t match and my OCD will drive me nuts, hahaha.

I guess it makes sense, and the. Get the matching front at a later date.

My knackered freehub cost me two new wheels (due to the above mentioned OCD). I went Hope wheels, but then it cost nothing in labour as was only an easy kit swap job.
