I had a quick search and could not find much.

Do uk riders insure your bikes separately (from house insurance) if so which companies have you used?
Thanks Tom

Our house insurance is with Aviva and it was quick phone call to add the ebikes. They just wanted to know the value of them.

Mine wouldn't. Specialist insurance more than my house insurance, so:
CyclingUK, £24 per year Senior Membership gives me £5m public liability plus legal support.
Litelok wearable lock £85, plus £60 per year insures any bike up to £10k. By the way any insurance policy requires the use of this standard of lock, I believe, so I'd have had to buy something like this anyway.

that doesn't cover theft does it? I just checked because i went through CyclesUK and not cyclingUK
Cycles UK use assetsure. it cost me £150 for the year on a £3000 bike. Aswell as theft I'm covered for public liability, medical plus legal expenses

A bit more detail...
Aviva added 2 ebikes to house insurance. They wanted to know value of the most expensive one. They said we must have them locked to a permanent structure when out and about.
They charged between £60-£70 (Total for both bikes)

£40 extra cost on my NFU house policy. Must be locked (lock not specified) to a solid structure when left out of the house.

Legal and General home insurance charged me £60 to add the bike as a specific item.

As already mentioned, Pedalcover highly recommended for combined bike & house insurance. Been with them the last 3 years

I’m with Laka and have £11.5k on cover (eMTB plus road bike) for anything between £25 - £40 a month. The premium varies because they calculate what they’ve paid out each month and your individual premium is a proportion of it based on the value covered. Covers crash, theft from home or outside, bikes do not need to be locked if indoors or in locked vehicle, stipulation is sold secure gold lock if outside (if you ever let it out of your sight).

Visit for quote using this referral link and if sign up both of us will get a £25 credit on the account.

CycleScheme just offered me insurance with their partner for the new bike. £50 a month!!!!!

Bike added to Lloyds home contents insurance. Covered for theft from the house/garage and car (but not when parked on the drive) with no security requirements. Must be locked if left parked. Also icludes accidental damage cover. £33 for the year. New for old policy.

I come back after 2y on this thread :D , can I ask how it can be so cheap?
I'll check by myself as well, but 33 pounds per year including other stuff at home seems weird.

£33 extra, not for the whole policy...

Insurance for bikes can be a bit tricky to navigate, huh? I've had a good experience with https://sundaysinsurance.co.uk/ for my ride. They offer tailored coverage that's separate from home insurance, giving me peace of mind on all my cycling adventures. Their straightforward process made it easy to get the protection I needed without any hassle.

I'm still with cycleplan for my turbo levo.
Last time I paid £229.19 for a year of cover which works out at just over £19 per month.
