Rail (750Wh) Trek Rail Gen 5 Missing EMTB+ Assist Mode

Hello all. I've read all the threads I could find on this subject and thought I would add some information. I've had a Rail 9.7 for some time with the latest update and don't have EMTB+ as an assist option. The dealer hooked up the Bosch diagnostic tool and it's not there either. Strangely, I recently picked up a new Rail 5 for a backup and it has the EMTB+ mode as an option from the factory. Any ideas?

Both of ours were connected to the software and got enabled under modes...
Trek just didnt have it enabled by default.

This was on Gen 5's. May not be available for other generations

I have the 2020 Trek Rail 9.7. The local Bike Shop has updated my system several times over the years. Sometimes there’s an update and sometimes there isn’t. However there was never an option to update to EMTB + or Tour +. It’s likely because I don’t have a “smart “ bike.

I’m not sure what year that upgrade option may have changed (2022 maybe?). Now I only ask the local Bike Shop to take away that little orange light that shows up as a service reminder after a set number of kms. Each time I ask them to set the service reminder to 200 billion kms …they don’t. I try to ignore that orange light.

I should have clarified. Both my Rails are Gen 5.
