Trek Rail 9 Brakes

After some opinions on what people think of the rear brakes on the Rail bikes. My first few trips out I found that the rear end shuddered a lot.

That has now settled down but I find that the rear brakes are quite poor. The fronts brakes are very good.
How do you find yours

The rear should feel no worse than the front, if it does there is an issue some where.

I wonder if rebound of the shock has a shuddering affect on your rear braking? Surface terrain has an effect on my braking(rocks, loose rocks, mud, loam etc). In the past couple of weeks, since a new rear tire, I’ve noticed a difference in the feel of the rear brake lever. Maybe I’m overthinking this/it but I’m now applying more pressure and maybe, just maybe, a slight bounce or shudder from rear braking. I’m gonna play around with the rebound first. Or tire pressure?
My downhill braking speed is somewhere between “this ain’t so bad” and “OH NO”.

Make sure the rear caliper is not slightly loose, someone else on this forum had that.

Thanks guys yes I checked all nuts screws etc and found a couple a bit loose. The shuddering has gone but the rear brake is poor probably didn't notice it before as I had the shuddering. Its in for its 6 week service end of the month so have put that on the list to be looked at. Apart from a couple of small issues the bike is great glad that I sold my Levo to get this.
