The right side main axle bearing on the TQ is a metal shielded 6806 bearing, which has no rubber seal to keep water out. The sprag clutches are sitting just behind this bearing, and won’t be in good shape if water gets in. I’ve seen that service centres are replacing this with a sealed 6806 bearing.

Has anyone opened up their TQ and replaced the R side bearing - if so, how far will I need to disassemble the motor? Any tips or service manual/photos?

My first motor from 2022 failed at about 400 miles, the sprag clutch got stuck, so the pedals wouldn't engage the chain ring, they would just spin in either direction, I suspect it was due to water getting into the clutch.

The new motor has been fine now for 1500 miles in all weather, so I wonder if it's only the very early motors that don't have seals on these bearings?

I have a new motor and I can see from the outside that it has a metal shielded bearing. It’s visible when the chainring is not installed
