Top tube USB socket

Has anyone actually used this socket and, if so, what for?

I believe you can charge a phone with it but can it be used for anything more useful such as lights?

I think I read it can provide up to 2 amps, which is 4x what you usually need to charge a phone.

So should be good to power or charge anything g you can think of really.

My front light seems to last about 4 hours so not a requirement for me but I’m sure I’ll think of something to charge!

I made a converter cable with a step-up-converter board set to about 7.5V. My Magicshine MJ-902 runs at nearly full brightness, although the voltage drops to about 6,5V at the highest level, the light does not detect low battery voltage.
