Hi all,
anyone got any experience with " the online cycle shop". Was scanning the web for a Bosch battery and came across these guys. Price seems too good to be true Vs other retailers so my "scam radar" gor alerted. Checked out is with "shop pay" which is usually legit but just want to make sure before I spend my hard earned cash. Anyone used them before?

I used them many years ago to buy a Bronson, was ok then.
But yeah, that is a good price.

Edit. It was them or very similar, don't take my word as gospel!

Same shop is also on bay I've seen now gives me a bit more confidence. He's also selling bulk to the trade . In that ad he says batteries are new in original boxes from a EU retailer that went bust. Possible I guess.

As long as they are the right orientation, horizontal or vertical to fit your bike, it sounds like a great deal.
Having just purchased a spesh 700 battery on offer for £810 ..

Yeh I feel your pain man, not cheap, I will probably take a punt on them unless someone else comes along with a horror story but ill stick it on a credit card just in case there's hassle.!! Cheers

I placed an order with them but the checkout tried to charge me an extra £8 for insurance. I contacted them to ask what this extra charge was for and got a VERY arrogant and NASTY reply and was told if I didn't like it I should shop elsewhere.

That looks to be equal to or less than trade price for that battery. I’m sure MBPS don’t seek em that cheep to dealers.

Site doesn’t appear to exist any more

The Online Cycle Shop - Specialist bicycle shop! ??

Up for me. The company behind it is called OCS Retail Ltd, incorporated in 2015 as Granary Cycles. Doesn't make a lot of money judging by the last accounts & the contact address is a third party fulfliment warehouse in Leicester. To my eye, it's a legit operation that isn't doing numbers & if I were to guess, the owners are picking up cheap stock on the hoof through trade relarionships & punting it out via Ebay & website.

That had some awesomely priced bikes under the Granary Cycles name a couple of years ago.. Although i completely forget now what they were, but i almost bought one, they sold out though.

You can see the business model. Guy runs a bike shop for a few years, gets tired of the rent, rates, electric bills and so on, decides to send his stock into a fulfilment place who do athe storage, picking & despatch in return for a monthly invoice & sell through online. Not quite drop shipping but adjacent to it. Not much different from the FBA guys. You could run it easily from a bedroom.

I purchased a Shimano 630W (BT 8036) battery from them a month back, no problems at all, the battery was with me 3 days after placing the order. I did pay the extra £8 insurance for delivery but on an expensive and easily damaged item like an eMTB battery it made no sense whatsoever not to pay the insurance charge with the delivery. I've edited this post to include some carriers will not take/deliver ebike batteries unless declared and insured (which makes perfect sense).

The site currently has a sale on, the horizontal 625 Bosch smart battery has dropped in price and is £350 including the postage and insurance shipped to a UK address.

My bad , as the op I should of updated my post ...sorry!!!
. I ordered That Bosch 750 battery the day after my last post and it arrived quickly ,( 3 days to northern Scotland is good!!) it was as described, brand new , original and authentic ( I checked the serial. NO on Bosch website) and it worked a treat . Still going strong after a lot of recharges. Apologies I didn't get round to verifying these guys earlier .

Just came across this post, I have purchased from them a few times (Battery & motor) plus just this month a set of new 2025 ZEB Ultimate 3.1 RC2 Buttercup forks for £579!
All good, quick delivery and good customer service.
They have a FB group where any stock which is not sold to the trade goes in to the facebook group for a low price. Some bargains to be had. They work differently to most shops but it seems to work for them judging by the amount of stock there going through?
