So does this mean you can ditch the screen then? Seems it only lists it works with the EP801 and EP600. Would be super interested in putting this on my EP8 2021 Merida E-160 8000

I've seen people upgrading their LED systems to actual displays. But I've never seen anyone downgrading their displays to a couple LED lights. This seems FAR less desirable than a real display.

So - would like to upgrade my GFs bike to the newer switch (She has an original EP8 with the SW-300) switch. Feeling like the new switch might not work with the older system. Looked at the compatability chart - made me feel uneasy!

Anybody tried this and no for sure you can use this switch with the older EP8 system? Thanks in advance!

I very much doubt it would work with the EP800. I needed the new switch when I upgraded to the EP801. You could use it as display and change assist modes with the new switch but you can’t use walk mode without the switch on the handlebar.

I researched - have an original EP8 and didn’t think it compatible. Maybe with EP801(?).

Has anyone tried this with an older motor? I have a E7000 and a E8000 that I would like to use it with, shimano say it won't work, but their info is a bit dubious sometimes. I have the adapter to changer between the sd50 and sd300 cables
