Hi all

I need to swap out my e8000 motor with another donor e8000 motor. Is it just a straight swap or do I need to do something with the software?

where does the Bluetooth connect to, the motor or the computer on the handlebars? If the former I assume I’ll have to reconnect my phone to the donor motor.

cheers

The connection is done to the display and when the software recognizes the new motor it will do the firmware update. The last time I changed a left shifter, the system recognized each component and did the firmware update without asking if I wanted, but it all worked fine after a long wifi conversation.

I would drop the existing motor and have the donor alongside. Unplug and move each cable one at a time and you shouldn't get it mixed up. Then power and test it starts up before bolting it all back together.
