And it was just the other day a business in the UK that appears to be the SurRon distributor posted here trying to drum up business? Seems like they should be advertising on punkthugs.com instead and skip trying to pimp their legal aspects to eBikers, which are few to begin with, unless you get the one that has a full light kit but even then it is a stretch for road use. They certainly will never be legal on bicycle trails.

The only time I ever see SurRon’s is with 16 year olds dressed from head to toe in black, balaclavas, no helmets… wheelieing up the middle of dual carriageways in the dark with no lights on.

They’ve got a real bad rep for being the chosen bike of drug runners.

I often wonder if they have a death wish, as they don’t follow any of the rules of the road - straight through red lights, and weaving in and out of lanes.

Well this is sh*tty. I thought they were only a problem here in the States. Besides being road nuisances they absolutely tear up the trails here and regular ebikes get the blame. The other day I read a Facebook post about how they tore up a pump track and it needed repairing.

They tear up local jumps, too. There is a trail that was donated by the motorcycle club to MTB riders. A couple of local guys built a sick half-a-mile long jump line. Dirt bikers respect it and stay off. But surrontards have chewed up all of the lips and smashed up the landings flat since they can't dip a 100lb bike into landings, nor do they clear them most of the time.
Those toys can't hang with dirt bikes. But they sure overpower any eMTB/MTB. So our terrain suffers most of their shenanigans.
