Suggestions for replacement shock on 2023 scott eride ransom for heavy rider

This bike came with a performance x2 (comp/rebound) in scott tune.
It started leaking air then the dreaded x2 squelch came.
Fox Australia replaced for a 2024 factory x2.
This lasted 9 days with oil leaking on the reservoir.
Replaced last week with another 2024 factory x2.
I’m running 298psi and two air spacers, feels terrible.
I contacted fox last week and they agreed to replace with a factory float x (350psi).

This bike has 180mm of travel and I do flow/dh and trail Knar type of riding so not sure if this shock will hold up!

I haven’t used a coil before (would need a 708 or larger spring) but open to what works.

Any suggestions?

Hi
Before you get into coils
Make sure the leverage ratio on the rear suspension is high enough if your jumping etc (y)
Yeah I thought this might be an issue. The Öhlins distributer recommended a coil over air but said it would come down to preference

I fell into this with my trek rail
Loads running coils but for me the suspension wasn't progressive enough so ended up with an ohlins air can (y)

How do you find the shock? I was seriously considering this one.
Brilliant
I had it tuned for the Rail when i bought it and its been faultless
Easy to add and remove tokens too which is good if you like a bit of tuning yourself .

Surely the new Vivid has to be a contender:

I went through two suspension tuners here and both agreed the shock would be too linear with the larger shaft and air can ie coil like. I agree the shock looks good but my factory x2 was too linear and not progressive enough for my needs.

Hey @Rocketeb, how did you get on with the shock?
I was in a similar scenario to you and Fox Aus ended up sending a DHX2. Unfortunately, I found out after a few rides that it fouls with the trunnions on the Scott frame - too late to send it back and also without another solution I ended up filing some material out of the trunnions.
Due to a separate issue, Scott is replacing the front triangle and I wanted to avoid having to grind the trunnion webs out again. Wondering if the Vivid or Super Deluxe coil fit?

Well fox Aus issued me a dhx after my float x had the same issues. I can only run the bike mx with the flip chip on high to use this.
So after some investigation, I ended up buying an ohlins ttxm2 coil which works on high/low (much better than the dhx for rebound fyi).
Haven’t tried a rockshox rear albeit Cyclinic recommended to me the fox float x or new vivid coil. Try nsdynamics if after an alternative to fox/rs
