It’s a bold move for a company that relies on other companies like Garmin to stay in business. If I were in charge of Garmin I’d just completely disconnect from Strava, they have their own “Strava” like app anyway. I ditched Strava years ago as it became too much like FB for me.

Well there’s a bear you might not want to poke.
I dropped my Strava subscription years ago and only use or need beacon and gps. Apparently Garmin has all that and more.

The difference in patents held by either company is staggering. Strava-24. Garmin-thousands?

Garmin is great if you're a time traveller going back to 1995 so you can look cool on your Yeti ARC.

For a week in 2023 I had a top-of-the-line Garmin to use. It was clunky even when compared to the old iPhone I was using at the time. I wasn't disappointed when I had to give it back.

Strava is a steaming pile of shit. They haven't even IPO'd yet and they're already enshittified.

I’ve canceled my paid Strava subscription twice before out of rage. Maybe third times the charm…

Strava is going down a bad road. Garmin has billions in lawyers to tell Strava to pound sand. Plus many Strava users love Garmin and are canceling their Strava subscriptions in droves. Strava is basically telling Garmin they can’t sell their products which isn’t going to go anywhere.

Glad I am not the only one that feels that way... I do keep my old Garmin around for backup and try to have 3 devices when going distance solo.

According to Strava «Just kidding» and lawyers smiling with pockets full of money💰
