Strava issues between phone and watch (probably not for the first time).

Hi all, following my first trip out on my new bike today, I've decided to make a concerted effort to log my rides, I've downloaded Strava to my phone (Motorola G7 Power), but, it won't send Strava to my Galaxy watch. The watch and phone work perfectly with other apps and software. After several hours of searching and trying different ways of finding a fix, I've got nowhere, is this a no no as the G7 won't work with the Galaxy or is it a case of having to by a Samsung phone compatible phone?
