I record my rides with the Strava Apple watch app. It works well enough for my purposes and includes things like heartrate data from the Apple watch.

The problem is that the Avinox system also records the data independently and sync's it to Strava. Except it doesn't sync but rather shows as a separate activity.

Example here where "Lunch e-bike ride" is from the Strava app and "20260511-193415" is sync'd from Avinox, but both are the same ride.

Ideally, I'd like the data to actually sync, since Strava pulls heartrate data from my Apple watch and tracks my progress improvement on repeated trails, while the Avinox app show things like cadence, power and so on.

Is it possible to somehow consolidate the Avinox-sourced data into the Strava activity?

I looked to do the same albeit Garmin / Avinox rather than Apple and the simple answer is it can't be done automatically. For Garmin, the 'answer' is to export GPX from the watch & FIT from the bike and combine using an external / 3rd party app. Then upload the combined file to Strava or Garmin Connect.

In the end, I don't bother so look at bike data as 'bike' and Garmin as 'rider' - I take the most important bits and export into an Excel spreadsheet that I use to record rides, motor settings, bike maintenance, etc. I use a few formula looking at distance, elevation gain, heart rate, etc. to 'rate' my ride for my benefit.

Thanks for the useful answer, this makes sense.

For others struggling with this, I'm using GOTOES connected to my Strava account and use their interface to combine the rides and export the combined one back into Strava. Then I go back to Strava and delete the original 2. Clunky but it gets the job done in about 1 minute.

There's an opportunity here for Strava to offer a feature that recognizes duplicate entries and offers to merge them and clean up the activity list. It would be a quite simple software enhancement and useful as we continue to see multiple data sources such as emtb motor systems, fitness devices, phones, watches, GPS devices, etc.

I looked at GOTOES but you need to be a subscriber to export as FIT after combining but as I use Garmin Connect (not Strava) don't want to take the risk of it not working as expected. A 'challenge' with GOTOES is that you have to start Garmin/Apple & Bike at exactly the same time to get things synced - not impossible but difficult.

It might be different with a Garmin. In my use case, when I'm ready to head out I start Strava on my Apple watch (poke one watch button then poke the watch screen) and go. The Avinox system automatically starts recording when I start moving, so close enough for my purposes (as seen in the image in my OP). When I'm done riding, I poke the watch again to "finish" the activity in the Strava watch app and turn off the Avinox system on the bike.

When I get home I go through the GOTOES process outlined above. Their sub is only $10USD/yr so not too bad. An even cheaper option is to sub to their Patreon for $3USD, test it to see if it works and cancel if it doesn't.
