I have used ST Unlocker in Australia for over two years on my original 2018 Merida E160 and have had no problems with a warranty motor replacement etc.
Never has the shop mentioned that I had it reset to US mode for the 32km/hour maximum speed.
Now I have bought the 2021 E160 with the EP8 motor and want to do the same thing.
Apparently the new motor and software now records any changes made.
As US mode 32km/hour is ratified for use by Shimano, it is surely is not voiding the warranty.
If they ask, surely I can just tell the bike shop that I only use it in bike parks or private property where it is legal to have it set higher.
Has there been any documented cases where warranty has been voided when used in US mode outside of the US?

St unlocker is unlikely to work on the ep8. I can't confirm this but I would suggest its unlikely to work. Eplus software will soon be able to derestrict ep8s

I have ST Unlocker on EP8 set to US mode.
Works well and shouldnt void the warranty as the bike is designed for that purpose.

Plenty of info on it working in the relevant thread - the developer is a member on here
