    Riding a tuned or deristricted EMTB is not a trivial offence and can have serious legal consequences. Also, many manufacturers can detect the use of a tuning device or deristricting method and may decline a repair under warranty if it was modified from the intended original specification. Deristricting EMTB's can also add increased loads for motors and batteries. Riding above the local law limit may reclassify the bike as a low-powered bike, requiring insurance, registration and a number plate.

    Be aware of your local country laws. Many laws prohibit use of modified EMTB's. It is your responsibility to check local laws. Ignoring it, has potential implications to trail access, and risk of prosecution in the event of an accident.

The flow app on iphone nagged me there was an update. After hitting to update bike button with the speedbox in I bricked it, Software update froze at 30%. When I turned the bike on I got bike on-cycle through battery indicator-flashing orande light x5-bike off. Dealer fixed it., the motor software version is 11.13.0. The speedbox no longer turns on via the +-+- or walk control. It did work a few time with the app but now that has stopped working also. Any of you guys also having issues with detection??

The lesson is:- if you bike is working with derestrictor delete the flow app, also if its in for service tell dealer not to update.

after the latest update ebike it stops working. You need to send the speddbox back and update it, then it will work again.
 
Mines been detected twice now and gone into limp mode...I believe next time is permanent so I'm taking speedbox off .... Good whilst it worked but I don't want to trash a 3k bike....performance line CX gen 4 with smart drive
