Solution for broken gear on E7000 engine

hello friends, has anyone got a good definitive solution for the broken gear on the e7000 engines? Does anyone know if Shimano has already made improvements to the current models?

I'm thinking of having a gear made out of a slightly harder material, perhaps polyurethane.
