Socket wrench set

Buy the decent quality pieces you want, figure out what size box you need to keep them in plus a bit bigger for maybe a couple of additional tools in the future and enough space above and below for foam padding then buy a wooden box and foam to fit (Amazon has a big selection). You can even make cut outs in the foam to locate each tool.:)
Voila!
For example my vernier, not a cheap one, came in a naf plastic box but a couple of Euros and and 10 mins work and it now looks much better.

Interesting. I am always looking for a better set of calipers. I see they are on Ali Express for about $35.00. What do you like best about this tool?

By good value I meant something that doesn't break the bank but also isn't the usual china tool quality. But yes, I have the basics but am missing a 3/8 socket wrench. I will keep looking.
I also cannot afford Wera X3 rachet for over $300. Ariter is a Chinese brand that supposedly offers similar tools at good value:

That looks far from practical and quality is questionable :D

Indeed, only practical for mechanics that torque their bolts. Quality boils down to 'good enough for who its for'. I guess it was good enough for the questionable impecunious reviewers on Reddit withal.

Exactly (also motor mounts bolts), and also I have a 3/8 parktool lockring, I guess using that with 1/4 is a bit cumbersome? Not enough leverage?
Otherwise for everything else yes, a 1/4 is more versatile.
A word of caution - stripping or overtorquing your motor mounts or any part of the crank spindle (integrated into the ebike motor for all mid mount motors) can result in having to send a motor or frame in for repair ($$$). To reduce the risk of your home repairs resulting in costly damage - please consider investing in high quality sockets or Torx or other bits that fit with tight tolerances and either invest in or borrow a properly calibrated torque wrench before tightening the motor mount or spindle bolts.

I already have a handy torque wrench (2-20ish nm) so that's covered. But now I'm thinking whether some 1/4 socket wrench wouldn't be a better investment than a 3/8. I do all of the maintenance with P handle hex keys and so far so good.

The point of my original question is because I have a weird clicking noise from my cranks, so wanted to undo and redo the motor mounts bolts with some loctite (I know the issue can be elsewhere). And for that I guess the best tool is a socket wrench.

IMHO, there's not enough 3/8 stuff required for a full socket set so you might as well just buy the sizes you need from a brand you trust/like and a 20-120Nm torque wrench.
