Had the Bosch smart system a little over a week now and must say I'm quite impressed so far.
Obviously I'm still learning and tweaking settings and have a couple of questions.

Using the ebike lock.
Ive seen a couple of threads where problems have arisen. Is this a common issue where the bike often wont start due to connection problems or is it a very good feature?

Flow+ subscription.
As far as I can see, the major benefit of subscribing is extended navigation. As I doubt very much I'll ever use navigation, is it worth subscribing?

Cheers

I purchased the lock feature, 4 years ago, and had two failures in the first 4 months. (I was locked out) I turned that feature off.

Regarding navigation, I don’t personally use, or need, navigation or some of the other things available . I use Strava 99% of the time. (I have 8 map apps). Most importantly Strava has tracking for up to 3 individuals …just in case of an emergency. There is a free or subscription version. After using the subscription version for a few years I eventually went with the free version.

Trail Forks, All Trails, Kamoot, all have gps abilities, but I only use Strava.

Are we talking about the ebike lock function? If so I use it, but never paid for it? 🤷🏽‍♂️I thought that was the alarm element?

Ive never had any connection issues, always recognises my phone and unlocks first time - seamless really.

But really all it's doing is disabling the motor, making it harder to offload the bike if stolen, nothing more.

I don’t even have the app on my phone anymore. Found it all a bit of a gimmick to be honest.

Yes the lock. It’s not part of the subscription that’s the alarm.
Love the idea of the feature just worried that half way round a route it locks up and you’re stuffed!

it's never crossed my mind to be fair, and never happened to me. There is a very small risk that your phone goes flat, or you crash and knacker your phone up (which has the smart key link), but you really are in edge case territory there.

My advice - trust the tech, and ride it like you stole it 😎🤟
