Been offered a bargain on a 230x62.5mm rear shock. The standard Decoy has a 65mm stroke. Has anyone tried this, I’m happy to sacrifice the approx 5-7mm of rear travel as I don’t need all 165mm.

I know the 29er comes with a 230x60 shock but will take a 230x65 to increase the travel with no clearance problems.

As far as I can figure a shorter stroke with same i2i shouldn’t cause any clearance issues but just checking.

Also does anyone know if the Decoy will fit the RS bearing upgrade?

From £1.99/month
It will just a 2.5mm stroke reducer shim in the shock taking it down to 62.5mm. Should be easy to change back to 65mm.
The shock tune might be totally wrong if it’s from another bike.
Get in touch with TF Tuned/J-Tech or similar they will be able to supply a bushing kit to install the shock and can also do a custom tune for you.

Cheers, hadn’t thought of removing the spacer. It’s the right tune
