Shock mounting hardware

Hi, I'm preparing to swap the mounting hardware from the original Rockshox Deluxe shock onto my new DVO Jade X.
What's the best way to remove the steel spacers / pins...?
I've got a tool to remove the bushings but can't see an easy way to remove these.
I've pushed the larger one so far with a vice and socket but only so far. Should they be that hard to remove..?

I had to do this recently when installing a new shock. I wrapped the steel pins in a cloth (to prevent scratches) and used pliers to gently pull them out. Worked well.
