I don’t know if anyone else experienced this. When I first got my Heckler MX-S, the Shimano EP8 motor was intrusively loud: like rustling plastic and paper. Now it is even more quiet than the Bosch CX 4 that came in my Trek Powerfly.
I still miss the extra pull of the Bosch especially on the top end and its EMTB mode is Incredibly responsive. However, the EP8 does provide a more natural pedaling feel. Trail mode is more work than the EMTB mode in the Bosch but boost mode is absolutely brilliant at a slightly lower cadence. You can literally glide up hills as if God’s hand is pushing you forward.
I just hope the motor will be reliable.
