Shimano display question

Can the Shimano E5000 display be replaced with the E8000?? I am looking at a Husky bike and it comes std with the E5000. Not a huge fan of the display...so wondering about this possibility of changing it over to a better unit.

Yes. But you'll also require an assist switch for the handle bars. Probably an E7000L.

Which motor are you getting? Is the display a 5000 or a 5003 (cosmetically identical). That'll have an influence on which displays/connectors you'll need.

The bike is equipped with the Shimano EP8.

The bike is equipped with the Shimano EP8.

The E8000 display is not compatible with the EP8 motor.

You would need to go for the E7000 display or the EP8 display (EM800). There are a couple of threads about which cables you would need for which choice.
