the Soft Albert I had wore quick, I dread to think how quick the Rear Shredda in Ultra soft will wear
be good if they offered Soft in the Shredda Rear
I have 1200 miles on the shredda now, and it still has 60% of its tread.

had the rear lose traction 3 times now around high speed corners, resulting in a few cross ups and one fast low side. Each time it was in terrible spots, but I never had other tires lose it in these spots. I want to love them but I really dont think ill buy another one. Now the rear shredda on the front has had no issues at all. Probably either try a MM or run the Scorpions like I do on my other bike

I found a loss of traction turning a few times out front with the MM, and hints with the Rear Shredda, which was pretty disconcerting - but going by the extra amount of time I'm waiting for the missus at the bottom of trails I get the feeling I'm going a fair bit faster too. also the MM was a completely new tyre for me - so probably gotten a bit more used to it now. I'm thinking I might try the trail carcass Alberts for the summer - will save at least a kilo. I've also upped my pressures a bit - 29 rear 24 front

Pretty wild, had for years, DHR II and switched this winter for Shredda Radial front/rear and I never had so much traction.

It really depends on where/how you ride, for me in muddy forest DH this is golden what I really dislike is their drag, I can't wait to remove them when the weather will be better, I stop pedaling, the bike is nearly doing a full stop.

Have Magic Mary non-radials on the front (23 psi), wife and I remarked that the grip is great but the drag is horrible. Tempted to take the MMs off and replace them with Maxxis Shortys bought cheap in the summer.

loss of traction turning
Ya I do 20f and 25R with the Shreddas. My buddy who is a faster runs an Albert rear and MM front.

I have had great luck with the Scorpions and have a few fast DH sections on Stava that my fast bike cant catch the slower bike with Scorpions on it. Only issue on those is the sidewalls tend to wear and bleed sealant towards the end of their life. But I have ran them through rock gardens at 15 psi and they have never had a pinch flat.

That is the only reason im posting and questioning the Shredda. My wreck probably would have been any tire it was hard packed wet clay and a flat L corner. But a few of the other times i highly doubt the Scorpions would slide.

A few reviews stated Shreddas had a narrow range of what they actually work for and outside that range the performance dropped off.

My Take, running at KOM speeds. It is still an amazing all round tire, and it has lasted far longer than most any other tire and still has knobs higher than the DH2 starts with. I have 60% of the knobs at 1250 miles They also grip and brake so well in most placed, it gives you a false sense of security so you can push a little harder. But when they do let go, it can cost you your ass and they do let go. 95% of the time they outperform all of the competition. But that 5% is critical. So Shredda front is staying, it has never washed out once.

Perhaps "A Group Trackday" riders on their crotchrockets are faster, but don't use Strava so know nuffink about KOM on the routes we ride. Sowwy. :)

You can try the maxxis high roller III, depending on what you ride on summer, found them pretty good too.

Well verdict for Shredda on the rear. You should change it out long before you wear the knobs off it. Had multiple fast low sides when the rear just lets go, and almost no braking ability. Was a great tire but I pushed it too far. Dont think ill buy another. Right now between Magic Mary and Scorpions

I think it's interesting question how well those radial sidewalls stand for abusing.
Extremely well. The Gravity pro sidewalls are reliable and did not start bleeding sealant after 1000 miles. The were really awesome at small bump and chatter compliance, and comfortable on long days when your just cruising. Under 800 miles they stuck like glue. Im using a rear Shredda for a front tire and its over 1200 miles and sidewalls show no wear.

I got the most miles out of any rear tire with the Shredda, but you need to scrap them long before the knobs wear down.
