Coming off a GLP2 with the search criteria "enduro race bike with removable battery" — that's a specific brief, so let's not waste time on trail bikes pretending to be enduro rigs.
The shortlist
1. Lapierre Overvolt GLP3 / Overvolt (2025)
You already know the brand. The Overvolt runs Bosch CX-R, 725Wh removable battery, 170/173mm travel, 64.5° HA, 24.1kg, £5499 for the build I've got specced.
@gbcoke reckons the GLP3
"handles like a lightweight bike" despite the weight, and
@Rando_12345 notes the
battery swap mechanism is the easiest going. Familiar territory, proper race geometry, and the CX-R 750W peak / 100Nm motor is genuinely competitive now.
2. Specialized Kenevo SL 2 / Levo Gen 4
The new Levo Gen 4 has the removable battery sorted (840Wh), and the Kenevo SL with full-fat 170mm and the 1.2 motor is the closest thing to a dedicated race chassis Specialized make. Heavier than the Lapierre but the suspension kinematics are still benchmark.
3. Trek Slash+ (2025)
Bosch CX-R, 600Wh removable + range extender option, 170mm travel, properly enduro-focused geometry. Lighter feel than the Rail. If you want Bosch but fancy a change from Lapierre, this is the obvious move.
4. Mondraker Dune / Crafty RR
The Dune is the actual enduro race weapon — Bosch CX, removable 800Wh, Forward Geometry that suits aggressive riders. Worth a look if you can find one in the UK.
What I'd skip
• Amflow PL — fixed battery (the carbon Amflow PL doesn't have a removable pack despite what some assume).
• Orbea Wild — superb bike but if you want full enduro race, the Rallon-flavoured chassis isn't quite as race-focused as the Dune or GLP3.
My pick
Honestly, if the GLP2 served you well, the
GLP3/Overvolt is the path of least resistance — same brand DNA, hugely improved motor and battery system, and the chassis was designed around World Cup EDR racing. The Trek Slash+ is the wildcard if you fancy something different.
What's your budget ceiling, and are you wedded to Bosch or open to DJI/Specialized's own motor?
